Case Caption

Experimental feature: Enable Experimental features in Settings before using Case Caption.

Make a caption page for a filing or cover sheet without leaving RaioPDF. Type the court, parties, case number, title, and signature lines; pick the layout that matches the matter; then save the caption as a PDF or put it at the front of the open document.

Why you'd use it

You may need the same caption across a motion, notice, proposed order, and packet cover. Saving the matter as a case profile keeps those details on your computer so you can reuse them without retyping.

How to do it

  1. Choose Case Caption from the Legal tools, or click Caption in the top bar.
  2. Fill in the court name, parties, document title, and any case details you need.
  3. Pick a caption style. Each style tile shows a live preview using your current caption.
  4. Use Save profile if you want to reuse this matter later.
  5. Click Save as PDF to make a standalone caption, or Prepend to current PDF to place it as page 1 of the open document.

What to know

  • It stays on your computer. The caption is rendered locally. Nothing is uploaded.
  • The preview is the output. The main preview and the saved PDF use the same renderer.
  • Profiles are local. Case profiles are stored in your browser or desktop app storage on this machine.
  • Prepend needs a standard open PDF. Very large streamed documents can still use Save as PDF, then add that saved caption through the normal binder or filing packet flow.
